Yearly Website Planning For Your Client’s Websites

It’s that time of year where everyone is making all the plans. People are creating marketing plans, business plans, outlining their goals or finding their word of the year. In the midst of all of that, you want to make sure that your client’s don’t leave their websites’ out of their planning. When you are working on your client’s marketing plans or their business plans you don’t want to get all the work done and then realize their website isn’t tied into your initiatives. The last thing you want is having to quickly slap something together.

Instead think about the following items from the beginning so everything is cohesive and show them they hired you for a reason.

Marketing initiatives

As you are planning your client’s marketing initiatives for the year, make sure any new directions, added revenue streams or changes in branding are included the website.

Blog posts and new content

It’s possible to start planning out your client’s blog content or any other content now so you can be ahead of the game. Be sure you have plenty of time to write, edit, and proof the content.

New functionality

Does your client need to add new functionality to their website to grow? Many of these changes take time so make sure you are planning the work out so you have plenty of time to get it completed before they need it to go live.

Even with the best planning things come up, and there will always be last minute changes to a website. If you take the time to think ahead, take a look at the business plan and incorporate it into your plans for the website – you can make sure your client’s are always growing and improving their website.
